African Climate Atlas

The African Climate Atlas is an online plotting tool developed at Oxford University. The idea was developed by Richard Washington following discussion with the World Climate Research Programme who initially funded the project. It allows users to plot observations, reanalyses, satellite dust retrieval, CMIP3 or CMIP5 model output –  for Africa, the globe or a selected (customizable) domain and date range. It is intuitive to use and has comprehensive plotting options. It has been used for a large number of undergraduate, master’s and doctoral research projects.

The Atlas is maintained by Dr Sebastian Engelstaedter. It can be accessed here: http://www.ouce.ox.ac.uk/~clivar/ClimateAtlas/.
